Welcome to my website! This page is About Me!
Growing up I didn’t really understand that we were poor. I knew we didn’t have a lot of money, but we went camping and fishing and hiking whenever possible.
Having now done it as an adult, I can look back on that time and feel thankful that my parents tried to take care of us as best as possible while spending very little money. We camped efficiently, and frugally, because it was cheaper than paying for heat, water and electric at home, and gas for the car. Depending on the season, when you’re in a tent all you need is a fire and access to potable water. No electricity, no heat/ac units, no well or city water to pay for, and fairly ‘unplugged’ from the electronic life.
So, how can I help you?
With the years of experience under my belt, as both a child and adult, and with all the questions I’ve been getting about how to stay safe, dry, and comfortable (YMMV), I decided to jump in and start this site. I discuss tips, tricks, and techniques to living in a tent and camping long term, based on my own experiences as well as those whom I’ve met over the years.
As I continue on I may add information and tips about living in vans, which is also something I’ve done throughout my adult journey. Similar to tenting, but with enough differences to change your lifestyle.
