Camp Cots versus Sleeping on the Ground

Sleeping Car by Thomas Warm

So, rather than end up with a hilariously long post, I decided to create this lovely chart about choosing whether to sleep in a camp cot or on the ground when tent camping!

If you are living in a tent:

and have a bit of a slush-fund, I highly recommend getting a cot. They’re easy, they last if you aren’t moving them around a lot, and create more space to store any belongings underneath the cot itself.

By storing items (especially clothing) underneath, you also cut down on the amount of heat leeching out from under you!

Do you have a preference for how you sleep while camping?
